"You guys have such an awesome " high intensity" vibe going on. The mix of blues and rock are a big hit. A little bit funky now. I do not think I have ever seen so many people dancing and just being into your music like they were at Lat 43, the last time you played there. You guys set the place on fire, for sure!" -Joanne S.

"Hoodoo Revelator plays rock-n-blues and always bring a great crowd and a better vibe. One of the classiest bands around!" - S.R.

NEW! Hoodoo Revelator show given 4.5 stars by Massachusetts Blues, Brews, and BBQ Check out their comments!

The year 2009 has seen major change for HR. First is the new line-uo:
Jeff Fabrizio is still holding the bass and Mike "Chipper" Chipperini has returned on harp. Bob Palumbo, who has been holding down the beat for HR over the last few months will continue as the drummer. New to the band are phenom guitarist Daniel "Moe" Moriarity, and frontman vocalist Kevin Haney. Kevin also plays a bit of the guitar.

The band made it's debut at the Black Raspberry Pub in Plymouth as was met with an enthusiastic response. "Blues band don't normally do well here, but you guys are way different!"

The genre is basically the same with new, more contemporary tunes. More originals are coming as are the plans for a new CD.
Metronome Magazine Review of
Do Me Right

By Douglas Sloan

Hoodoo Revelator serves up a swinging blues stew on their debut CD, Do Me Right. Lead singer/guitarist Jay Scheffler fronts the band with gritty vocals and rhythm guitar while lead guitarist Jim Chilson, bassist Jeff Fabrizio, drummer Dave Darling, and harmonica man Mike Chipperini keep the pot simmering cut to cut. Chilson, Scheffler, and Chipperini all contribute to the songwriting that's rounded out with covers by Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, War, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Hoodoo Jack Carter**.

The overall sentiment throughout Do Me Right is uptempo blues/rock punctuated by Chipperini's fine harp playing and the rock steady beats of drummer Dave Darling. Best tracks include the boogie of "Do The Do," the bluesy lament of "Do Me Right," and Chipperini's blazing harp attack on "Chipper's Boogie."
